John Robson Collection

The John Robson Collection is a special collection on criminal, restorative, and social justice.
It is named after John Lochiel Robson (1909-1993) whose personal collection is included.
It has been developed as a community initiative by Napier Pilot City Trust and relies on donations from the community and around the world.
About a third of the collection is Reference-only and is housed on the first floor in the library. The remainder resides in the circulating collections.

Napier Pilot City Trust
This plaque overlooks the John Robson "Restorative Justice Collection" in the Reference Department of the Napier Public Library in Station Street.

Judge FWM (fred) McElrea

Photo of Judge Fred McElrea Fred McElrea was sworn in as a District Court Judge in 1988 and was later appointed a Youth Court Judge. He has written papers and contributed to various publications on Youth Justice, Restorative Justice, Criminal Justice and Mental Health law. A keen sailor, Fred is married to Margaret and has five children and three grandchildren. He is an active member of St Oswalds Parish, One Tree Hill, Auckland.
