Napier is renowned world-wide as New Zealand's Art Deco City so it comes as no surprise that Napier Public Libraries is striving to have the best Art Deco Collection of resource material in the Southern Hemisphere.
The new comprehensive Art Deco Collection was launched at the Napier City Library in 2002 and includes both domestic and international Art Deco resources.
Most of the books, CDs, videos and copies of the latest "Newest City News" publications on display are available for circulation and cover art, architecture, fashion and design.
The ceramic works of the world famous Clarice Cliff are recorded in full colour in twelve different books about her life and works in the collection along with other international books on the Art Deco period like Essentail Art Deco and Screen Deco: A Celebration of High Style in Hollywood.
